Does anybody know where access to Constant Lake (near Dacre) can be gained? Not necessarily a boat launch since it'd be my kayak I'm dropping in (but boat launch is good too

) .
thanks!

There's a shallow public launch north of the village of Balaclava. It'll be fine for your kayak. If you're looking for a good boat launch, you can pay to launch at White Cedars Resort.
Cheers,
Salar.

White Cedars would be a good bet. Lotsa weedy, shallow water in that corner of the lake if that's what you're looking for. Other than that, try Fiebig Rd. off of Scotch Bush... can't recall how wide the road is there for parking but if you're in the area and don't want to pay to launch, try there first.

Hey buddy,
Youre best spot to drop the yak is in the town ( official canadian ghost town) of Balaclava. There is a old boat launch at the mill and some awesome bass in that corner.
I am from Douglas originaly so if you need other info for the area let me know.

Someone could probably confirm this, but on the other side of the lake from Balaclava, Constant Creek runs in. There's a bridge on hwy 41 at Constants Creek. I believe hwy 41 and Constants Creek Road cross right there. There's lots of parking there, and I believe you can easily paddle in from there. Watch out for the water snakes!!!!

78af, looks like about 1km paddle from 41 to the lake on Google Maps. Might be kinda fun, I've done that kinda thing before on Muskrat Lake. Thanks for the suggestion

Sounds about right. I'm pretty sure I did that same thing LONG ago as a kid with my older brothers. If memory serves me right, it's pretty tight with weeds at the summer progresses, so early mid summer might be best.
Near Constant Lake is Lake Clear. If you've never been, it's a beautiful lake to see. Clear clear deep water, and some pretty cool cliffs to dive from and swim if you're brave enough.

Hey Scott,
Constant Lake is a great spot for kayaking! I believe there’s public access on the east side of the lake near Dacre. It’s not a full boat launch, but it’s perfect for dropping in a kayak. You might also want to ask some of the locals, they’re usually pretty helpful and could give you more tips on the best access points.
Enjoy your time on the water!

There seems to be a recent trend on this site of stone-age posts being resurrected for no reason..... lol.

It is a one man show only so many hours in the day. I delete the junk posts, but sometimes replies to really old posts if they are "on topic" I miss them.
