Understand the pike have been hitting good at Mississippi and
other local lakes. Anyone been on the Lower/Upper Rideau lately?
I know there's few Walleye but the Pike should be hitting. F2

I was on lower Rideau on Saturday and got 8 pike in a few hours of fishing. They were small with the largest being about 4lbs. No walleyes but that did not come as much of a surprise, I only spent about an hour looking for them.

Thanks for the info re pike on the Rideau. Have fished
this area for several years and find that the pike are
always there but, like you say, they tend to be on the
small side. Always find a few bass mixed in with the pike :)
who like those 3" spoons - wish they wouldn't hit :((
Last year I pulled a 34" out of the Lower, largest fish so
far!

Fished there Saturday.. pike could be found in 6-8 FOW where there were weeds. No weeds, no fish! They were hitting bucktails and rapalas on the pause in the morning. By afternoon the fish were more aggressive and eagerly taking mepps spinners.

Thanks for the tip and I will certainly use it this coming Saturday.
If your ever down this way, give me a shout - Lake Anna, Va. is
a nice lake if you can keep the jet ski's off your line! F2
