I understand that Ontario residents over 65 do not require a fishing license. Do they require any paper work other than a driver's license or similiar proof of age and residency?

I was stopped by a CO last year. My dad was with me, and the guy only asked for my license. Both of us had rods in hand. So, I think they have some common sense Although I am sure it would have make my dad happy if the CO asked to see his license as well (he is 70)

Anglers do not need a fishing licence if they are:
1. Residents of Ontario and Canada under 18, or 65 years of age or
older, and in possession of their birth certificate.
2. Disabled Ontario and Canadian residents, eligible for and in
possession of either:
• a Canadian National Institute for the Blind National Identity
Card; or
• an Ontario Ministry of Transportation Accessible Parking Permit.
3. Ontario and Canadian residents in possession of their birth
certificate and accompanied by and requiring the direct assistance
of another person to fish and to follow applicable fishing laws due
to a condition of mental impairment or a developmental disability, a
learning disability or dysfunction, or a mental disorder.
Those who qualify to fish without a licence must follow the same
catch and possession limits as a Sport Fishing Licence.
