I had a converstation with my neighbour last night concerning the why I buy all my fishing equipement in the US. This article points it out loud and clear.

Yep.....
We sure get ripped!
EDITED FOR CONTENT BY ME!
But your right! We are still paying 18% more in some cases for the same items. Even with the loonie on par.
BS if you ask me!
But this is life right!? The rich`ll get richer while the rest of us keep making them richer.
Look at gas! There is no shortage! 8 Billion dollar profit in Q1!?!
We get hosed daily and guess what! We do NOTHING about!
We continue buying.

But you do have to know where to buy. Very rarely will you get a good deal if you don't do your shopping before. Not all stuff is cheaper in the states.

Almonte fisher, you can usually get the same price as the states with a couple of PM's. I am not a big buyer but when I have to get something , this is where I usually start.

Prices in the States have been climbing, but we're still lucky, I guess.
Here's one; if I call Cabelas in Nebraska and place an order I pay S&H and state sales tax here in PA

While I was up for vacation last year my trolling motor died. I looked at Bennet's but they had none. I then went to Canadian tire and found that they had a very limited selection but I was desperate. I ended up spending 100.00 dollars more than I would have back in the states. I am a huge fan of the Bass assassins and Zoom super Flukes. They are almost double the price that I can get here.
