I've never fished the part of that river that I know of because everytime I have driven over it the water level seemed very low. But I drive over the part that is between Smooth Rock Falls and Cochrane.
go a little south..........

Nighthawk lake flows into Frederickhouse and can be accessed on Hwy 101. You'll get walleye, sauger, pike, perch, mooneye, whitefish and jumbo perch. The Fred is shallow and a notorious one when the wind whip up. Mitch

The fredrickhouse river has great fishing. There is huge sturgeons in there also. I caught one 61" when I was kid. I know that is a long time ago lol but I hear they are still there.
