Shorefishing Mannotick This Sunday

Anyone who wants to join me this Sunday (4:30pm - whenever) at the locks in Manotick is welcome. I thought I'd dig out my little grill for a BBQ and maybe bring the wife and the boy (maybe even the dog). Just so you know, the weather forecast is for showers... if the weather gets to nasty I'll post a cancelation notice on this thread.
The locks are at the end of Nicholls Island Road. It's off of River Road on the east side of the Rideau. So you'd go right through Manotick on Bridge Street (cross both bridges) and left on River Road (at the Tim Hortons). Continue on River Road for a couple of minutes and you'll see a sign pointing to the locks via Nicholls Island Road. There's a parking lot just before the end of the road on the left.
I'll be in a red Saturn Vue and will be wearing a Fish-Hawk.net cap.
See you there,
Mark

The weather network says 80% chance of a few showers. If it does rain, we can simply dive into the water to avoid getting wet...lol. I'll be there rain or shine.

rain doesn't bother me, the gf or the dogs... but we might leave the cats, at home... if i had more leashes i'd bring the turtle and the snake... lol... have a whole big animal party... lol... but if i get the van we'll be there...

If you bring the dogs they need to be leashed (lots of Parks Canada personel around that could fine you for having them off leash) ... BUT... there's a (dog) park not far from the locks.

no no i'd keep them on the leash... although well behaved, they are still animals and you can never put aside that fact, they may have something happen that sends them off... just gotta be careful and know the animal... but its no worry... im mostly worried about Guss as hes a 3.5lb Yorkie that has a bit of a temper, but mainly is a happy dog, but he can get angry... lol.... but the bark is MUCH worse than the bite, i've caught bass bigger than that dog... PS.... Its not my dog... its the gf's... just for the record... i wouldn't own that little thing... lol...

Looks like there might only be a few showers this afternoon so I'll be there for sure. PLUS ... I really need to get outa the house.
I'm gonna
TRY to bring the little BBQ but very possibly might wind up there with only a bucket o' KFC

.
If you don't know where the locks are click on the following link and you can get directions:

Damn would have went but can't get a drive.....
Not allowed to drive, so I rely on family to drag me down to the river and drop me off.....
My mom is always exhausted and never wants to take me. Lucky if I can get her to take me down once every 2 weeks.....
Even though it's literally 2 minutes from my home.......
Maybe another time though......I would like to try fishingat the locks again.
What is the next outting? has anyone decided? I would love to go, but I need to know in advance...
Also how did you make out? Did you catch anything?
Thanks!
