My son is working on the south shore of Wolfe Island near Kingston and has seen many boats fishing between the island and Cape Vincent. I was wondering if it would be worth taking a run up and trying things out. Does anyone have any advice as to what might be along there. Thanks

They are fishing bass or possibly walleyes around Carleton Island...many fishing guides in the Clayton/Cape Vincent area. No salmon or trout until you get out in the lake because no thermocline in the river and even then you usually have to go way way out.
Its wide open and you need a big boat on the south side and much of the water is American where you need a NY license. The north side of the island is easier to get to and better protected and the fishing is just as good...maybe better. You can get into some very good bass fishing in the shallow bays of the southside though.

I remember several years ago watching a Fishin' Canada show where Pete Bowman was bass fishing out of Kingston. Had a great day if I remember proper.
