Hey Lads,
So, our two year anniversary is approaching this weekend, my beautiful wife has suggested she would love to spend the day out on the water fishing..........music to my ears. Anyways, with no access to a boat, can anyone suggest a good spot for us to rent a boat (within an hour or so away) where we can find some bass and/or pike.
Anything but Constance Lake or White Lake...

Big Rideau is a great choice, there is Charleston lake too. Kelsey's rents boats for sure.

thanks for the reply lads. I have never fished either body of water, which one do you think would have less boat traffic on the long weekend ?
The big Rideau isn't narrow like the lower rideau, is it ?

No, Big Rideau is not narrow like the Rideau River.
I am sure you'll find some nice bays etc to fish.
Why not rent a cabin on either Charleston or Big R and make it a w/e get-away?
My wife and I are going salmon fishing for our anniversary.

P.S: Yes she has 3 sisters, but none you'd want!

Congratulation on your 2 year anniversary. A great place to go would be Crotch lake in the sharbot lake area they rent boats there's also a lodge you can rent an appartments or a cottage and the pickerel is great there is no cottages on this lake its like your own private paradise. Islands everywhere you can stop and have a picnic...the place is call thumbleland lodge. Have Fun.!
