Been so busy back and forth between the cottage and home and entertaining a lot of family that I haven't had too much time to fish, and no time to post here lately.

Here are some pictures, without any real report, as I'm still tight on time & it takes me long enough to upload the photo's alone. Just wanted to let ya all know I'm still alive and howling.

Nothing of real size thus far, but boated a few decent fish and having fun with the kids as always.

Kids have been swimming a lot, and we tried tubing for the 1st time. The Mister even got a chance to water ski behind that nice, new boat! Lots of wildlife sightings, the best being bald eagles (our pair successfully fledged a youngster again), 3 otters, and an ENORMOUS snapping turtle.

Hope you're all having a great, safe and fishy summer! :D I think most of our relatives and visitors are done and now the rest of the summer will hopefully slow down a little. Enjoy the pic's and the rest of the season.

The dog will surprise you one of these days and make a leap for one of your fish.

Hows the water level on wolf lake?

May try to get up there during holidays.

Andre,

the water level on Wolfe is really high right now, thanks to all the rain.

I am sure it'll go down as always later this month as they start to tap it from the dam. I hate that. :?

Micah (our dog) is a kick in the boat. I'm amazed at how fast he has picked up the body language (& verbal language! ) and drag sounds that mean "FISH ON!!" As you can see from the pictures, he's verrrry interested in whatever you pull in the boat. So far, he's fairly respectful of keeping his mouth off the fishies. I'm pretty stern about that.

I miss my Toby tremendously, as he was a constant fishing companion for me the past 13 years. But Micah is proving to be a lot of fun in the boat. If we could figure out how to stop him from sun burning, that would be a good thing. He is as pink as an Easter Ham and has sensitive skin.

W.

PS: Andre, if you get up to Wolfe, let me know!

If you've looked at my mom's post already, you probably saw me wearing a Boston Red Sox hat. Let's get this clear to all of you that have seen me in my beloved Yankee hat, that I am NOT a Red Sox fan!! My Yankee hat was left at a neighbor's house.

Back to fishing........... I caught a pike that got snagged in the weeds while I had him on. We got it in but when we were about to take a picture it flipped into the lake. No pic. :( It was small and around 18 inches.

See ya.

Great pictures Wolfe. Glad to hear the whole family including Micah is enjoying the new boat - proof that the right decisions were made last winter.

Very nice report.......some beautiful fish!

I used to go to Wolfe Lake as a child with my father. We would launch at some Inn of some sort.......near a golf course I guess? but my memory is eluding me...

Anyways, thanks a million! Keep the reports coming guys! haha

Hi Tom,

You must have launched at the public launch right next to Green Shingles Lodge. Sadly, this icon on the lake is "no more" as they say. The property has been sold off to a group developing a fractional ownership endeavor. Very large condominiums going for $59k for 5 weeks / year usage, plus yearly fees. There are already some constructed and sold, and lots of new docks/slips on the lake.

The old lodge, boathouse and most of the cottage/outbuildings have been torn down and/or relocated.
