a scruitineer will be given a team to ride with for the day. lots and lots of money on the line so just a precaution helps teams stay within the rules and if a team should come in with a crazy big bag of fish no one could say that team got them dishonestly that sort of thing.

being a scruitineer makes for a long day because you cant do anything to help a team out you cant fish you cant net you can only sit and watch maybe chat a bit but you will see and learn some things from top notch fishermen.

I have to put a warning out, some guys drive their bass boats go very very fast and if you hit a big enough wave, hold on tight.

I know, I'm just coming off 10 days of muscle relaxant and spasm pills. My back was all messed up from all that bouncing I did a couple weeks back.

I think Michael has 'baited' everyones hook by asking if anyone is interested in being a scrutineer... and because 'some' of you don't know what this means, send the folks at Renegade an e-mail and get 'the' information that you need, on what will be expected of you.

Best of luck to all at Muskrat!

Thanks for those interested and that have forwarded me their contact information.

Scrutineering basically means you are an observer in the boat for the day while the anglers fish the tournament. I personally did this last year and yes it is a long day but you can learn a lot simply by observing other anglers. This is especially true on day 2 where scrutineers are put in the top boats (Day 1 it is a random draw). One of the scrutineers could be in the boat with the team that wins the $50,000 Ranger bass boat. We also have David Chong and Doug Brownridge fishing the Classic and these guys no doubt will be there in the top 10 going into Day 2. Anyone that volunteers has a chance to be an observer is their boat on either day.
