Homemade ski leaders

Long time since I've been on here, sometime in July I think (too busy fishing haha).
LeBarons does not seem carry heavy end stuff I'm looking for, and I cant remember any of the local stores carrying anything like this...I may be wrong. This season I've got away with lighter leaders (65 lbs), so far they've worked but the last muskie I caught severed the leader just as we were getting her into the net. Wouldn't want to lose a fish like that on mistake of one of my own leaders and leave her with a 13' Believer stuck in her grill.
Anyways I've got making leaders down to a science now and I'm looking for the following stuff:
1) 7 strand wire (130+ lbs). Anyone try 49 strand? good, bad, ugly?
2) Fluro (130+ lbs) Seaguar is prefered
3) Sampo Stay-lok snap swivels (165 lbs) - if not available, other brands work
4) Sampo Bearing Swivel Rings (150 lbs+)
5) Obviously sleeves that would fit these as well

I can get these off BPS, however, if I can buy them locally I would prefer to support any one of the great local shops

As you can see Muskies Canada has corrupted me into an addict, haven't touched anything but muskie tackle this spring/summer haha..absolutely phenomenal organisation

I'll give ya some of the ugly

I know alot of guys have no problems with crimps, but from my experience the are a weak link in an otherwise strong setup. I have seen too many leaders kink and break at the crimp.

Started to tie my flouro and use 175lb single strand twsited and have not a problem for years.

We picked up some 100lb fluoro last night , and make some leaders

Better than those pre-made 30 lb you buy

What sort of knot are you all using to tie the heavy fluro? I am having a hard time making a knot in 55lb fluoro that does not end up putting a kink in the line near the snap.

I haven't had any problems with crimps, so far with 8 fish this year all my leader damage has come from simple use or teeth...part of the reason I want to beef up, tired of throwing away lures because they deteriorate after one day of use.
