ottawa river oct 19th report

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

So me, my grandpa and our friend mike hit the ottawa this morning/afternoon we started off casting for abit and no bites until i hook into a 6.3lb pike my biggest this season!

after that we keep casting for a bit longer and nothing.... so we decide to troll till we decide to pack it up my grandpa gets on perch and our friend mike gets a smaller pike and a small bass. overall the fishing was slow but we had a good time anyways on such a nice day on the river! :D

Congrats!
We too got 1 muskie on the way in.
I had a hunch to troll an area. We got a fiesty little one!
A hard day for muskie action for sure, but it paid off!

Looks like it was a beautiful day to be out and any fish caught (nice pike and 'eye) are just fringe benefits. Good to be together, guys...keep it up!

Very nice!!!!!!!!!

Would love to catch either of those fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice Report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The action on the Rideau has died down......

I went to one of my favorite spots and didn't spot 1 fish through the water, which is UNHEARD OF!

They were all up at the dam about 500meters away.......

In fall, all the fish dissapear from my favorite summer/spring spots.......it sucks....

Kyle, those black spots are common on some of the Pike we catch out here on the Ottawa...probably just a parasite of some sort!!

dont worry that pike will be fighting another day for sure i would never dream of keeping it i like pike to much even though my grandpa doesn't  my motto is i wont keep anything i catch unless i know i will eat it and i would never pernally eat anything from the ottawa river after the things i heard about it as fun as the fish are to catch in it! :D
