***Awesome Rainy day From Paradise!***(pike/SMB)

Post by Fishing 24/7 »

with this rainy forcast the plan was to hit our favorite lake once more this fall...

GREAT decision! 8)

we knew the smallies were on fire due to a outting from last year @ falls!

so why not go try and land some more beauties! :D

we were ON the lake @ dawn...BEST TIME FOR SMALLIES!

Hit a HEAVEN of a shore line for small mouth...

put a BIG-O cray fish patern and BINGO!

a nice 4.2 SMB to start the day! :)

Image

This shore line switches to a nice big bay...an old but still green salad bar still lives in this bay... perfect for bait fish .... and where theres bait fish....well......

Image

3 cast's after...

Image

BASS addict gets two beauties a 3.6lbs and a 3.4lbs one after the other!
on his NORTHAM perch patern MAGNUM!

dawn leaves us but now the pike are getting active....in the mornning it was just a light bite ...i could tell cause i missed a couple and got lots of fallow ins.

Cast here cast there....@ this point we are working hard to get our first pike in...then it happens i cast right over a drop off were it goes from 4 to 15FOW.... SMASH! inhaled the m/g yellow and black with golden blades.!

Image

a FAIR 6lbs

at this point of the day we are SOAKED my hand are so wrinkled you would sweare im 100+ years old!

we hit a shallow weed bed...ok ok half dead weeds but still good cover for pike!

This pike was ready for action... he smashed a white blade willow leaf spinner bait with a buck tail!

this pictures is to show you the size of his head! a REAL snake!

Image

BIG head small body... :x

the day is commin to an end... winds picking up rain is just POURING down

bass addict gets off the boat to get the 4 wheeler with the trailer and im about to load the boat on.... when i get this CRAZY idea....

im at the control of his boat for ONCE!

i back up into a small bay and get 2 casts in...

first cast........................................................NOTHING

second cast...........................BABABABABBA SMA SMA SMA SMABANG!!! 8)

my drag just goes RIGHT out its a 10 lbs plus !

finaly the beast we were looking for! 8)

Man they were in a aggressive mood 8)

It was a slow day for pike , but a couple of them showed up to play

The funniest part of the day was when ,after passing in front of this dudes
cottage several times He would be looking out his front Bayview window
shaking his head everytime we went by ( in the pouring rain ) later on
in the day as we were approaching the cottage he was standing out on his dock and he yells out YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY...........to which i reply YEAH WE KNOW ............

Yesterday it was Paradise Lake ,,,Today i'm heading to Lake XXXX

I can see 24/7 and Bass Addict skipping around singing the old classic tune with a little change in words:

"I'm fishin' in the rain, just fishin' in the rain..., what a wonderful boatload I'm catchin' today."

Man, that pike is KILLER big. Wicked!
