I'd like to use this line with marmish style tiny jigs( marmishka ) about 4lb power.
I'd like to maximize my rod/marmishka for whitefish and another one for trout and third one for walley.

In my mind less diameter is the most important factor because it would allow
marmishka to sink deeper or keep contact between rod and marmishka at the bigger depths.

Also it should have some elasticity once fish pulls the line fast but not too much.
Because it should keep a contact between rod and marmishka.
Marmishka is constantly vibrating creating live imitation.

I thought about clear lines. How critical this factor in Ontario lakes like Simcoe.

If you noticed any side effects with some lines can you post?

Where I can buy in Toronto or order by internet?

you saying your using a marmishka rod for walleye.. .

the true rod is just about 8 inch long..i would not recomend it for walleye..i got those rod a couple models actualy.

there great for crappies and perch and mabe whitefish.

i did caught some pike on those..but not recommend...my 2 cents.

but there cool and great to use.

i even went down to 3/4 pound on one off them...and the others have 2 and 4 pound test.

I did not mean to catch big walley 10 lb like but you can definitely catch smaller few pound ones. You not actually pulling line when your rod is 90 degree to the line. You setup the hook once rod stays in parallel to the line nose down.

The most valuable factor in palm rods ( like marmish ) is you have the best theoretically possible sensitivity and contact with the fish. It's especially critical in the middle of winter once biting is slow down.

But my point here was about what line would be the best with it which you can buy in Canada. What exactly lines you are using?
I meant braided, monofilament or flurocarbon.

I fished Simcoe for years b/f I left the area, we caught plenty of big Whitefish out of Simcoe. I never felt that the different lines we tried had much of a difference. We used any thing from 8 to 12 lb test, clear, green or blue. With that said, we were often fishing in over 100ft of water, so line visibility may not have mattered much. OR maybe we would have caught more with lighter lines.

Things may have changed quite a bit in the last 5 yrs due to the zebra muscle infestation.

I have been using Berkley® FireLine Crystal™ Micro Ice ,with a breaking strain of 1 lb and a line diameter of 1/4 lb.

I have tried marmishka rods in the past but a high quality/carbon rod with a smooth drag is the way for me. When on a school of fish the rod (not marmishka) allows me to pull fish out quickly and to get the line back down fast. With the marmishka rod it is fun but like I said when on fish in freezing cold conditions I found it much harder to fish efficiently with.

if you're worried about fitting line on the spool and are only going for pan fish I prefer trilene 4 lb XT, I use it through the ice or for specks in the summer on the ultra light

I'd recommend you check out Gamma ice fishing line.
Found it to be strong and pliable.
