I think it'll be another week or more yet Joco for this area. Maybe up in Quebec but I can't see the ice thickening all that much with this week's forecast... we have to pray for some colder overnights and no snow.

Thickest ice I've found so far is 1.25"...

bucketmouth.

yep it will have to be a lot colder and a lot thichier before anyone go on ice safely like i alway say.

there is some little lake here in the quebec that will be frozen or that are already are..that do hold crappies. 8) .

so to all.

safety is number one thing...there is a little thing to you can find here to no what is safe or not.for ice thickness.

for me....its 4 inch and more good ice.this is for me...so can take a long time to get this in are region wathever where you go.but have to think 4 inch all over..this is the prob..sometime you can get to 2 inch.no good and dangerous.

wen there a bit off snow on ice this is where it get more dangerous you cant see that mutch..where you are going.

so for safety reason no posting off first ice fishing is good.on any site even the suposely private ones...helloooo....could be great ideal...but again we are old anaught to no what to do and not and will assume are doing.

i am sher we wont see if somebody went true in 2 inch off ice..to shy to say it..hahaha.

but every year we see bad story lets keep those away

not going alone
survival suit on first ice is a very good ideal.
not fishing to close to others
ropes at hand
ice picks could be great in case something do happen.

again safety is first.

and still cant wait..soon.but not to soon for me

this is NOT A RACE people.

i'm thinking of going down to baie l'orignal to check on the ice....

you should also come down to petrie to meet up with some fellow hawkers!!! when the ice is thick though, i'll keep you updated!
