Hi

The wife and I are going to the Daytona 500 this year... a dream come true for this long time Nascar fan. :D

I was hoping to get some fishing in down there too.

Anyone have a great suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Well it's not often that you get the opportunity to target saltwater species. Checking a few websites, given that the Daytona 500 is in mid February you're probably looking at targeting Redfish, Jacks and Snook.

Cheers,
Todd

what im thinking is that if you go salt water youl be trolling most of the time....

BUT

if you go for bass.... you can put your skillz, learn new things..... get a bass of a life time!!!!

For me theres nothing like getting fish on the cast......

Nevertheless. you may get a hell of a fight on saltwater.

are both outting going to be guided%??%?%

Cod's good, same with monkfish or pollock.

Well Florida was everything I thought it would be... maybe a little colder than I thought but... :?

Here are some shots of a bass outing that the wife and I booked on a little Lake Cecile near Kissimee. The guide was great and overall we fished shiners but I did throw out a lipless crankbait and spinnerbait and caught fish on all methods.

No real monsters caught... but numbers of fish was great.

I would recommend this to anyone heading down there.... our guide only charged us half-price for the charter too.

Seaweed,

I would have voted "bassin'" and that's just what we're going to try to do when we visit Brian's folks in FL in March. I hope we can get into a few like you and your wife. Great pic's. I'm sure it was a fun trip, especially to get a break from hum-drum winter.
