ATV Chains

Anyone have experience or recomendation on ATV tire chains?
2002 Honda Rubicon 500 with stock Dunlop 25X10-12 tires on the back
Are the 2 link seperation on the V bars that much of a difference ?

I can offer some advice when Putting them on...Deflate your tires a bit, the chains will go on easier. then renflate them to the desired psi...Ol army trick

Just don't do it cold!
If at all possible I'd suggest deflating and inflating in a warm room.
Problem being that cold tires usually need inflating twice as I have found the air pressure isn't as constant when the rubber is hard from being cold.

get the titanium carbide ones. They cost more but will pay off immediately. The agreement usually is solid too. I'd get those instead.

If i thought they would clear the fender, I would put them on the harley too

Not true. Alot of older 883 Scramblers were or are still used.

If you can, I would upgrade to the ITP Mudlites. I have them on my King Quad and they work great in everything!

How well do the mudlites perform with fluff snow on top of ice on a lake?
That is why I am asking about the chains. Maybe in the summer I will switch up to some mudlites to get my kayak into the back country but figures other than dropping big cash on tracks, chains would be the next best thing for traction on ice.

and you are right....For the money involved in chains, it is a relatively inexpensive way to gain traction....New tires=Big $$$
