Great day on the O and Rideau today. I fished a few of my shore spots and the walleye were on everywhere. I caught 8 in 5 hours, the biggest being about 4 pounds. I kept too for lunch and the rest went back...
they were hitting small jigs tipped with a minnow. How did everyone else make out.

Just spent a couple hours on the Rideau near the Airport, we were mostly fishing for panfish. Caught a lot of fat rockbass, a couple BIG perch 10-13", a small pike and a little bass. All in all not too bad, I noticed the water temp was up to 67 F much warmer than the Ottawa which was 57 F yesterday.

I'm so envious of these reports... I'm still working!

Anyhow crazyhook where abouts do you go from shore. You got great results.

Markus I'm envious at the amount of time you spend fishing.

Fished Arnprior today for 3 hours...(For the first time)
Worked the mouth of the Madawaska where it dumps into the Ottawa River. Jig'd plastics and minnows on the 26ft flat just out of the current. Caught 9 Walleye and 2 Saguer...kept a couple for a fish fry. No big ones mostly in the 16-20" range.

Bowzog called me with his report. He's at the cottage on Round Lake. His brother got a nice size pike, but nobody caught any walleye. They'll be trying it again tomorrow.... and here I thought they were going up there to build a deck...

Personally I didn't do any good. Went trout fishing in Calabogie area ...there was way too many people , wheatear was nice but only one trout landed.
After spending several hours there I moved to Madawaska to fish couple nice spots but eyes where not there. Had a pleasure to meet few nice people on the river but no one seems to be catching anything expect bass

I wonder how did you guys do ...
cheers,

/p

I hit up the Castor in Russel by the dam, and Crysler by the community center. My buddy landed a 10-12 lb pike in 8 feet of water !I caught a 8lb pike, same place, fiancee caught what appeared to be a monster Muskie in Crysler but turned out to be a 6-8lb pike..(still have trouble differenciating the two  [not even sure that's a word])either way, all along that river (Castor) we got action. Lots of bass, carp and pike.....lovin' it !No pics yet.

Enjoyed a wet day on the Ottawa out of Rockland.....

Darn river is way up and I couldn`t launch at Petrie without filling the backseat with water. I didn`t actually do that ... but I did last year.

Marked a lot of big suspended fish on the drop-offs west of the launch on the North shore... wind was blowing in that direction... and blowing pretty hard might I add.... made for an interesting slow drift with the current and the wind combining for a nice slow drift... I casted shore.. I trolled some ... I jigged.... couldn`t interested anything into taking the bait long enough to hook.

It was my last run with the old boat... she started up real nice and didn`t give me any problems.... almost like she knows its time to go. I had to get wet trailering her too... due to the water level. Current in front of the launch was really ripping. Heads up to small engine units.... better be sure to eat your Wheaties before trying to cross there for the next little while.

Big-o, next time you are doing yard work, try fishing for squrrels. It's so much fun. Get a few walnuts and such and tie string to hem. throw them near them and they will grab them and won't let go. Once they get close to you they let go then give then the nut.

I have tried it
