Quebec Map Project (31 Mile Lake)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Quebec Map Project (31 Mile Lake)

Post by Billy Bones »

Hey Rob

I used to have a cottage on 31 Mile Lake, northern section. Have listed three spots that always produced for me.

1. There is a shoal that tops at 40 feet of water that runs from the mainland across to the island. To the north it drops to 90 feet and to the south it drops to over a 100 feet. This is a great spot for vertical jigging in the evening until well after dark. Did some scuba diving in this spot with my son, around midnight one night. There were trout all over this shoal. Great fishing for Lake Trout all summer.

2. This is another shoal that tops at 50 feet. It is between a rocky outcropping and the island to the north. Have personally caught up to 40 Whitefish in a morning here, in the early spring, using Kastmaster and Swedish Pimples. There are also Lake Trout if the Whitefish will leave your lure alone.

3. This is a good bay for Whitefish, in early spring to mid summer. Look for them on the sonar usually in 40 to 50 feet of water, and use Kastmaster and Swedish Pimples

Regards
Billy Bones :D :D (AKA Bill Jones)

Mitchell Lake, which I hear is a bay of 31 mile lake divided by a dam, can be added as a good largemouth spot.

mitchel lake is not a bay its a lake by itself..

but true its frome the 31 mile lake..its coneted. then to pres lake then roddick then gatineau river.

if you look at a map..the indians use to take that route ,,down gatineau river then enter the roddick lake then prest lake then mitch lake then 31 miles lake then down the lievre river to the ottawa..to not get attack by the other tribe down the O.R here..(little history course.).

but its a fun travell to do in a canoe or kayak.

joco.

I think it's the same lake a few have been reffering to as Lake Simcoe lately.
