Valentines Weekend get-away...

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Valentines Weekend get-away...

Post by RJ »

What is more romantic than a weekend in the Hills on ice?.....nothing at our house......well....according to me anyways....

Birdee and I spent 4 days in the hills with a great group.....the weather was great and the fishing was just fine as well....

I had picked up a sled specifically for ice fishing....she performed like a champ.....

Image

Birdee worked hard all weekend and was rewarded with a couple of nice fish....

I snuck in a few when she wasn't lookin'..

While I've yet to see a real impressive laker from the area we were fishing with lighter tackle they are a blast to deal with from the depths.....

Image

Great way to spend a weekend.....she's already talking about next year....
:D

And the fish aren't too shabby, either. 8)

What a really nice way to spend the Valentine's weekend, doing something so fun together.

RJ Great report! Lake trout are awsome fighters pound for pound those look like the Haliburton Strain more of small bodied laker but lots o fun.

By the way when did you get a bravo? Those things are a solid machine.

Nothing like spending the weekend without showering 3 days while sleeping in a stinky room with 3 others.

All kidding aside, I think it's so awesome Birdee came down for the trip and how you snuggled up on the 1 man trap... awwwwww.

Picked it up about a month ago....love it....though I dwarf it somewhat...

It will make it all the more easy to get into some of those lakes that we are lucky enough to have at our disposal....

If you are looking for company....let me know....

Nice Fish! Wish I could coax my woman into a valentines trip like that, but I think I would get a slap for suggesting it! lol

Yup! I have the same idea. I would really like to pick up a Bravo/Tundra or Enticer next year for the same purpose. Those things are indestructible! Easy to toss around when stuck as well. Never did understand the need for 800cc monsters.

I may give the Specks a go this weekend.....unless you want a lift up to SM's spot...

HAHA...... I don't think I'll be hitting the ice this weekend. Mother-inlaw in town for the weekend. I'm hoping.................if she like the splake and walleye feast enough she'll send me out Sunday to get more!!!

Just how big was this square tail? Biggest I have seen personally out of bogie was 6 lbs even. Short and fat.
