Zone 18 - ice fishing for Walleye ends at midnight on Mar.1?

Hi Everyone :

The guide says that March 1 is the last day for Walleye in zone 18. I am assuming that this is Sunday at midnight and not Saturday at midnight , which means that I can fish Sunday afternoon ? This post may seem retarded, but one has to double check everything these days with respect to regulations since the fines can be horrendous.

I would agree with your interpretation that Walleye in Zone 18 is open Sunday, til midnight.

as soon as the calendar reads march 1st, it's closed...so that's in about 58 minutes. Sorry, can't fish walleye at all in March where you are. Tough break. Crap...just realized that means I can't fish the Nation tomorrow, did well there today too :x

GO FISHING TODAY IN 18!! Today, Sunday, is the last day. It doesn't say that it closes on the last day of the month as for Largemouth (Nov. 30), the regs say March 1st for walleye in 18. I apologize if my last post caused anyone not to go fishing today. To the Nation I go!!
Tight lines,
Yannick

I believe that it closes march 1st at midnight, ask Sheldon EYETRACKER he might know.
So Sunday should be open, just a guess.

Yes March 1st is still part of the open season.

Since the MNR used the actual date for end of month, it's obvious they don't want to have to be checking each year as to whether the end of February is the 28th or the 29th, hence the March 1st date.
