Just wanted to know how many of you out there are bass tournie anglers. What tournies will you be fishing this season? where? I'm looking to start tournie fishing to gain some experience, I am willing to use my boat this year in tournies, if anyone is interested in partnering who doesnt have a boat, drop a line. Or, if you do have a boat and your just searching for a partner I am willing to pay tournie entry fees, gas use and other negotiable expenses.

Hey there FISH_MAN_DUDE. why dont you look up on some of the posting on a club called BASS ANGLERS ASSOCIATION ( B.A.A. ). We are a new club. And we are still accepting new members. Experience or not it makes no difference to us, small boat, big boat, that also does not make any difference. Look under TOUNAMENT in the index section.

Lots to choose from...

BAA
BAOO
Rengeade (Gold and Silver division)
SEBO
Backwater
Valley Bass
OVSB
Petawawa Bassmasters
Quebec Bassmasters
Eastern Ontario Bassmasters
ProBass Quebec

That is just in Eastern Ontario.

Full listing but probably not complete for all of Ontario.

Cheers,

Mike

All are great tourney series, it most important to find a group that you are comfortable with, sometimes its hard to get info if the players are too interested in the money are are not interested in sharing info. I belong to OVSB and really like it's chemistry, it just works for me. I get to fish with a different angler each tourny date and the money is not large so I find people are more relaxed and willing to talk. But like every angler there is only some much truth to go around. We have already got our members for this year thou.

I am this year doing the CFT One Days, Our local Bassmasters Circuit and maybe a couple of other small tournaments, I would have to agree with Bass Ackwards on the Bassmasters being a great way to start with tournaments.

As Probassing says there are lots to choose from and they are all good. I fished the Silver series in Renegade last year and was very impressed in the organization and I have joined again this year. The silver series was less expensive and a good way to get into tournament fishing. If you want more information here is the link to their website: http://renegadebass.com/

BASS Federation clubs or CFT Clubs would be your best bet for a beginner. As far as fishing a Pro/Am, check out the CFT website.

Good luck.

Thank you everybody who posted.
I was a scruteneer last year at the CFT Classic on simcoe with Mike Jackson(Angler of the Year)...I learned alot...I was thinking about doing the 3 day pro/am that CFT does but after last years classic i felt discouraged. I think I'm the only one who will be there who isn't done high school. So I'm looking for something a little MORE amateur.
