I was in a paddletales yesterday and saw the carrot sticks and love the feal of them. My question to you guys is what do you guys think of them as far as feal goes and does any know what the difference between the carrot stick and carrot stick gold are beside from the cork grip? I am really thinking of getting one but i am wondering if they would compare to my g loomis and kistler rods.Any info on these would be greatly appreciate it.

I too like the feel of them and they look cool but I'm not impressed by the guides on these rods. They seem kind of cheap for a $150 rod. I still might pick one up if I could find a sale somewhere or if I can pick one up off eBay.

I looked @ e21 Carrot Stixs and Kistler Magnesium rods last year for a second flippin'/pitchin' stick.
I thought they were both great rods but the Kistler won out on blank color. I'm just not a fan of the color orange. I know, that's a bit shallow......................so be it.

main difference between regular and the gold series it that you can add ballancing weights into the end of the gold rod.

Aren't are you the guy with the "Hot Pink" pickup DS?

You are right about the color though. I just picked one up and Ed's and boy is it ORANGE when you get it outside in the sun! I did like the feel of the rod but the truth will be in the pudding in a few weeks when I actually get to use it. I got the 7'3" spinning MH model for deep water dragging and drop shotting.

I love the colour ORANGE....but not on something that someone can easily pick up and steal. even from a distance you can see if someone has Carrot sticks in the boat.

I was in the BPS store in Orlando a while ago and was looking at them there...I will pass along what was told to me by the salesman...i have no idea if its true or just rumour. He told me that E21 was doing a LOT of exchanges on last years rods as there was some issue with the blank. Again...no idea if this is true, just passing along the BPS guys words.

I liked how they felt as well btw :)

I too was looking at them last year and really liked the feel of them. However I was patient and waited. Glad I did, after a few tournaments all I heard was someone broke another one. Maybe they have improved the product for this year we will just have towait and see. In the mean time I am waiting for an Okuma C3, going to give it a try.

I sold a ton of Carrot Stix last year, and only had one come back broken, and it broke on the second cast. As a percentage of rods sold versus warranty claims, they had to be the lowest in the store. I also had a lot of guys coming back in to buy more after fishing with one. I use a 7'9"XH for throwing rats myself and love it.

I was in Florida fishing last week (fishing was a bust) and didn't take the Carrot Stix. I threw a rat with one of my buddies rods, and I couldn't get over how heavy it felt and how dead the rod felt in my hand compared with what I am used to.

I've looked at them but how in heck do you hide a 7' orange fishing rod from your wife.

I made the mistake of buying different coloured rod jackets for all my rods and that makes them easy for my wike to count. Should have gone all one colour.

Seriously though I am in the market for a new rod and the E21 is one I'll look at. I like the colour orange but the comment on the guides is food for thought.
