Anyone care to share some general info about Lac des Iles? I see Ultra Bass is fishing a tournament out of there this year so was hoping to get confirmation that it was worth the drive.

Good bass lake?

Where do people launch from?

Don't worry folks I'm not asking anyone to give up their favorite honey hole...put I won't discourage tips if they are given. Just looking to start planning my hit list for this season.

One thing you want to bear in mind when fishing Quebec waters for bass.

Most lakes in the near-north now force you to take a boat wash from their operators prior to launching.... and the washes are expensive.

Just thought I would let you know. This is being done due to a Blue Algea problem that showed up in a couple of the lakes a few years ago....

We fished lac des Iles two years ago. It looked very good with weeds all along the edge. We tried around several islands, and had no success. It seems like a big lake and gets rough. We spent the day casting tubes and crankbaits and not even a hit. However, we did not use any electronics or map to find them. They may be there, but hard to locate.

So how does that work? Do they have some pimple face kid sitting at the boat launch 24/7 ready to blast my boat with his Canadian Tire pressure washer?

When does the Bass season open up there?

I see Ultra Bass fished a tourney on that lake in late May 2006.

How much is 50 gallons of gas at $1.98 a litre?

There is no longer an early season for bassin in Lac des Iles

If you check the Outaouis Bass site they have changed the opener

I am not trying to keep you off the lake just trying to avoid a long drive for you only to find all this out.

the municipalitie off lac des iles does not want any more tourney on there lac to much complaint again about 20 bass boat flipping the residants docks everyday so we lost that lac so we put a rulle this year to stop pre-fish a week before the tournement to let the lake bread a little bit and residant to. but it is a real good lake to fish go check the result off last year on the ultra-bass web site
