I can highly recommend Blue Shark Charters. Captain Art is very experienced and will provide a very eventful trip. He even does flyfishing for the sharks. You may even have a chance at a Mako. Website mentioned in previous note will give you all the details but you must call and book well in advance as he fills up quickly. If you get the chance I know you will enjoy it.

I've always struggled with paying someone to take me fishing....and get ready to pay thru the nose for that trip JP...
I'll be down in NS myself in late June....Markus and I are going to try to do it ourselves....

Art is the best. You won't go wrong with him...but it will cost you some coin. I think you can take up to 12, so it'll be easier on the pocket book if you fill the boat. He doesn't have the smaller boat anymore...unles he's a aquired a new one since I last spoke with him.

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to it and I don't care how much it costs

LOL.
It is the chance of a lifetime. I think he quoted me $1500 for the day plus tax.
I know what you mean RJ, I hate to part with money but you can not go out shark hunting in the Nova Scotia with out a certified guide. Not that I would venture out on the ocean in search for jaws by my self LOL.
Cheers

Same with NFLD as well I believe...No fishing legally without a local guide with you.

I was born/raised in a fishing community in NS. A few of my buddies are still fishermen there. I will talk to them and see who they reccomend and what you'd be looking to pay. I know the shark fishing just keeps better and better there with the ocean temps rising. There has even been great whites caught as of late. I'll let you know what I find out.

A buddy of mine, ex-submariner, who lives down there also HIGHLY recommends Blue Shark Charters. He has been out a few times and they caught a goodly number of sharks each trip. Most of them were smallish, like under a hundred pounds, but they did get some big 'uns too.
Have a good trip, and be sure to have at least one supper at Five Fishermen Restaurant in the bar district downtown. AWESOME eats! here is a link:

I have eaten there a half-dozen times and it is surely one of the best restaurants I have enjoyed, world-wide. It has been a few years since I was down east, but their prices were also extremely reasonable for such exceptional quality. Enjoy!

What number fly rod do you use for sharks??? Somehow my #9 likely wouldn't cut it...
Have a great time JP. Sounds like a lot of fun - something completely different. Get a few pics... can't wait to see the report.
