Wellers bay . may 9th, 10th 2009

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Wellers bay . may 9th, 10th 2009

Post by bucket_mouth »

Fished wellers bay this past weekend and enjoyed moderate success. The pickeral weren't very cooperative but i did manage a nice 4lber. Along with that we boated a dozen small pike, a dogfish(man what a fight) and a monster oos largemouth . lol out of season or not it made my weekend, probably in or around the 7lb mark. Sorry no pics yet, i'm still having trouble uploading them from my phone onto my computer. No clue on how to post pics here but i just put a couple up on the albums page. Before anyone freaks about the bass they were caught trolling a husky jerk and quickly released.

I believe the correct name is a bowfin. Long eel type thing with a circle dot on the tail. Ya that thing was turbo charged lol, broke water twice.

Bowfin sometimes called a dogfish. Tough as nails and fight like crazy. One of those pre-historic fishes. Caught a lot of these when I lived in the States.
