I am still getting used to my nitro. I noticed coming off of plane I would have the wake roll over my transom and soak the rear end. What is the best way to avoid this ?

On the bright side if I need my livewell filled up in a hurry.......

A couple of things to try,

- Try to slow down more gradually. Tough to do sometimes.

- Give the throttle a quick "hit and stop" just before the wake is about to swamp the back and get on top of the wave.

- Don't keep a full gas tank.

Trim down on reentry coming off plane - that will completely eliminate your transom splash and works every time!

First you get some good polarized sun glasses so you can see the wake coming......

Ditto this. If you dont manage to slow down gradually, use the hit and stop technique to eliminate the wake. Works every time.

follow the instructions provided by F-H'er's
just when you come off plane and slow down, you'll notice the transom sink down and the wake begin to roll up on it. Right at that moment, hit the throttle just enough and long enough to midigate the wake from rolling into the transom well and into the boat.
practice this and you'll get the hang of it and it'll become second nature to you.
also watch some of the other bassboat drivers and you'll see they all have to do this, even myself.
see ya on the water!
