I have never fished the Jock, however my daughter has a school project on it. I was wondering is there any boat launches that I could put my boat in at. I know of one or two that I could put a canoe or car topper, however this is not a car topper, not a big boat just needs a ramp of some sort.
Thanks

boat launch !!

I think it's do-able at the Eagleson Road bridge but as Joco said, it's a hand thing.

I have see people lauch their aluminum off of steeple hill road. Its not very noticeable, I didnt even know there wasa lauch there, until one day I saw some people fishing and saw where their vehicle/trailer was.

wish I could be more specific, but would have to show you.

If you launch at the rinchmond park in town, you will be stuck in town as they put up a dam half way downstream to eagleson.

Southeast corner of bridge on Cedarview Rd., south side of Barrhaven.

A buddy & I backed (carefully!!) right down through the ditch to put in a 14' w/ a 9.9. That was 3 or 4 yrs ago, don't know what it's like now. Went to the 416 bridge & something BIG took off w/ my lure and 30' of line then SNAP-----gone!!

the only one i have seen is more like a grass road leading up the the jock surrounded by trees between 2 farms.
the jock the that area really only gets to be only 10ft..but last year..i was talking to a guy who was fishing, and he claims that he had a few eye's on..

We launch just outside Barrhaven off of strandheard and use a electric trolling motor and a 10 ft boat. We carry the boat down beside the bridge and go.

Awesome muskie fishing in that river.

it's full of spawning muskie right now, they will head out soon, but some will get stuck, alot of yellow pickeral too,you can launch at eagleson,I used to toss my 12' tinny in there, also launch on moodie south of fallowfield, take the river back west of moodie, past bridge, and in front of lumber yard, are good pickeral trolling grounds. caught nice fish there for 40 years.

Hey
Thanks for all the responses. However I took a drive around today as well as judging from the responses. I think the canoe would be in order. It's a photography project on the Jock she is doing. We have covered alot of the shore areas, but we thought we would explore the river a bit more.
Thanks again

There was a place to launch up by Centenial golf course at the end of Joy's Side road just west of Richmond. I havn't been up there recently but you shouldn't have any problem launching there
