The last two months have been hell for me. Ive been busy at work do to lay offs and helping my buddy
move across town, and to boot fighting the weather every fishn trip out.
Laker opener was a gong show first I got stuck in a mud hole 15km up in the hills then after
getting the truck out found a 5foot high beaver dam across the road into the lake.
Image
Plus a big pine fell on the bush canoe, looks like its time to make it a square back.
Image
Well anybody who fishes with me knows it’s always an adventure.
Sometimes it’s a gong show and sometimes it’s some awesome fishn. For all the bad luck life brings me
it sometimes rewards me as well.
Today I was hoping for some of that good luck and maybe this little guy is my good luck charm.
Image
In true adventures of S.M.05 fashion the weather forecast is calling for rain and……
YOU CAN SEE YOUR BREATH IN JUNE TEMPRATURES
Image
I decided to head up to one of my favorite lakes bordering the park
and stopped at a stream along the path in for a couple pics.
Image
Had a good day on the lake, caught my new personal best spec
as well as couple of these little guys which I quickly released.
Image
Image
Wait a minute, did I say new P.B. SPEC.
Hellssss Yeah!
So I arrive at the lake slip the canoe in the water and hook on my new Mr. Rapala.
No need to go far as the shores are choked full of wood and the water temps still cool.
First cast in the lake and it feels great the winds behaving and there’s just a light drizzle of rain.
Second cast out by some logs and the silvery side of a biggn flashes and wham she slams my lure.
It’s at this point I’m thanking the fish gods and asking not loose this fish.
Oh did mention that since I was hiking into the lake I decided to pack light
and leave the net in the truck………$%#* (Gong show).
The spec is tearing up the line. I get close to the canoe and its mouth is closed around the lure
and I can’t get a hold anywhere on it. After charging off again and again with the line I finally get it next to the canoe.
I cradle with my arm and slide it up the side of the canoe, the hook catches in my jacket and the fish
lands in the canoe. (Insert gong noise here)

Well that prolly used up my good luck for a while.
Hard to believe but I had one that made her look small check out my lure near the end of the day.

Bass Addict shame on you

Rapala tore this fish up pretty bad so I had to keep it.
Although I much rather a smaller one for the table the inch thick steaks of this Bea-T will not end up in the garden  .

Need some new recipies. Luke? Slop?
