Hey all just wondering what has been the most productive way you've caught Walleye on this year so far....?

I've only had luck on a weedless rigged grub....

Hands down for me is a worm harness or spinner rig. Then a jig.

Then I would have to say Slow Death also!! I've only been out once for eyes and have only caught one.

Pickerel rig + minnows followed by jighead + minnow and swedish pimple +minnow. They don't seem to be hitting the worms quite yet although I plan on trying some trolling with spinners tomorrow night.

Slow death rig or a knuckleball jig tipped with a minnow has worked well so far.
Two sleeps and then it is off to the Gouin Res for a week of trying everything from trolling stick baits to spinner rigs and everything in between.

Dan any place in your luggage ????????? I promise I will do all the filleting!!!!!!

Sorry pal, all my luggage space is used up for this trip. Due to this crazy weather I will be packing everything from survival suit to shorts. You know theold saying," if you got it and don't need it ok but if you need it and ain't got it you are screwed."
Hopefully I will have enough photos to post that you can feel like you were there with us.

Now I like to use worms on harness with SD hooks or jig with a knuckle ball tipped with a green,yellow, orange grub.

For pure numbers it has to be minnows, but for quality (size) crankbaits win by a mile.

The bubblegum reefrunner catches all the walleye for some reason.

Jigs with either 3" twisters or 3" Power minnows have been working alright on the Rideau . . .

Sticks and cranks for alot of people here....as per the Poll.

Jigs, if you have confidence and know what you are doing.

There are alot of people here that don't actually catch fish that have alot to say about catching fish and what works.

So far bottom bouncers/spinners and vertical jigging with both live minnows and Berkley products have been taken all my walleyes this spring with the majority of bigger fish coming off of the bouncers. I am a religious stick bait user for walleye in the summertime and will be working them a lot more in the weeks to come both casting and trolling.

I use trolling spoons and handlines
yes weird i know but I dont even own a rod and reel
Here you can see the spoon's we use ( and no thats not the bait, its a small perch) and the reels mounted at the front of the boat

Welcome aboard!!!! Handlining not weird just different, bring us up to date on that technique, where did you learn to use that? do you troll, drift jig with them???

The reels are called A&S handlines

We always troll
There is a 1 pound weight on the bottom of the steel line
14" or so up from that we run a 15# test 8' line with a spoon
2 feet above that we run a15# test 12' line with another spoon
We are basically always on bottom
No minnows or worms (although that would help when the bite is off)
we have fished up to 60-70 feet deep
The reels hold 300' of steel line

I will have to take a few more pics of the setup
