Ok here's the short version. For the last two years I have been making my own spinner baits and will soon be trying spoons. My sister, who knows nothing about fishing, tells her friend this. Well her friend collects feathers as a hobbie and gives a bunch to my sister to give to me to make lures. Well I don't fly fish so then I don't make flies so I have been pondering what to do with these feathers.
Idea.
Muskie really like to eat little ducklings...no? Ok I have no idea how to make a duckling so I grab a floating lure, and elastic band and begin to make a little bird. Crazy? Maybe just crazy enough to actually work. Check it out. Critisism is not only welcome but actaully expected. But who knows?
Awsome lookin baits for sure!!!!If the feathers r of no use plz I will take them and tie flies myself and give you a pick of the litter when im done!!!
Maybe a few spinnerbaits too???? In white or purple plz
Looks good, may I suggest tying your feathers up like the lure on the right as the other has them facing backwards.I often tie feathers and deer hair to jigs and meps spinners to add more bulk and hide the hook in clear water.just wrap them with thread around the hook shank put a couple of knots, put a little head cement(model glue)works also.good luck have fun, nothing beats the satisfaction of catching a fish on a lure you made yourself

Hey if you can use some feathers then consider them yours. I'll trade you for some advice on how to better my made up lure. Maybe even how to tie them on or the like.

Maybe it's just too early in the morning but I am not really following you here. You say reverse the feathers? Doesn't really make sense.
I'll look at trying to put the feathers on the hook shank, must be like a bucktail set up I guess.
Well as we probably all expected.....I threw it out last night and after a few casts I had lost most of the feathers and the ones that I didn't lose bunched up and generaly looked like crap.
