Went out Sunday for some Sturgeon action and was not dissapointed. I only caught one but there were a few other fish on the boat as well. Started off at Petrie Island drifting a worm down weed beds. As always the "hotshots" in thier fancy bass boats and walley machines were looking down thier long and ignorant noses at me as I use a bobber and worm. (sigh) The first fish in the boat were 3 nice Perch at 8,9, and 10 inches respectively. Then I got a Mooneye at 13 inches and decided to move to deeper water. After a few minutes looking about in the large bay west of Petrie I found 20 feet of water with a little structure on the botton. Here I caught a 16 inch, 2lbs even Drum (Sheeps Head) then my Sturgie. He was only a wee fellow compared to most of them but he put on a great show for me and a passing boater by jumping clean out of the water 3 feet or more. He ended up at 29 inch and guessing 4lbs as my scale was buried away already. It was just a baby Sturgeon, but made my day.

You bass fellers can keep your little fish, but I love the Sturgeon the best.

Great looking little fish. There must be natural reproduction somewhere around here. MNR probably would be interested as they are doing a study on sturgeon right now.

Hell yeah That was me. It was that young fellow looking to launch his boat as I was going to get my car. I try to be as quick as possible for others but sometimes you just have to be patient. Some folks don't have the experience or skill to retrieve/ launch a boat so I don't get angry, and even some of the best out there have a bad day. Hope to see ya soon!

Yep I guess he doesn't understand that the prep work should be done away from the ramp . He let me go in front of him and I didn't even have to give him the evil eye!!!! You mentioned problems with retrieving and launching?? Did you see me launching yesterday morning???

I find it hard to believe they were even looking at you at all ,,i mean after all were they not flying by you at 140km....

LOL. Naw, we were in pretty shalow water. I made the comment only because most boaters/fisherfolk give a friendly wave or a nod of acknowledgment. I guess the fishing was pretty damn serious yesterday for some.

I missed that Walleyboss. Let me guess, you launched on the left hand side, facing the water? I've had the current push my boat sideways parellel to the shore there. ( as I smile with rose coloured cheeks).

No, i backed in and saw the trailer turn a bit but kept saying to myself the boat will float off soon. but by the time it floated off the trailer it actually got stuck sideways on the trailer so I had to pull out and retry. Felt like it was my first time doing it.
