Hello all, new to the board, but i have been reading for awhile now. My family and i have fished White Lake for the last 20 years and was wanting to try Madawaska Lake when we come up next summer.

I have searched and read about the launches and there isn't a real good launch from what I can see. I will be launching a 20 foot ProCraft bass boat pulled by a Ford f-150 4wd truck. My father and I wanted to try and catch a few nice smallies as WHite Lake used to be good to us on the smallies but seems to have went down hill.

If I were coming from White Lake to White Lake Village to Arnprior what should I look for as far as launching goes. I read that Clay Bank may be the best bet. I know where the bridge is that goes over the Mada. River where there is no diving off of but from there I'm lost with these directions that I've come up with.

Any help would be appriciated, and and tips and places to try would be great. We'll be in the area June 26 till July 3 next summer. Everything is catch and release so nothing comes home it all goes back to fight another day.

The Claybanks launch is better than it looks - access off of White Lake Rd.

it's a good launch,just it has no dock and you will get your feet wet,with a 18+ ft. boat most days,especially in the famous west wind.

I launch there 3-4 times a week,heading out tonite about midnite,if the winds die down,which is clay banks pita,west and nw winds get pretty crappy,and loading can be a pain w/out a dock. but the fishing is worth it,you will have no problem,my boat is 19' I just leave the 115 merc. in the air and use the kicker to get away from shore,a couple big rocks, and stumps are everywhere,which is normal with a man made lake,but if you launch strait away from the beach,you will be in 50' of water in 30-40' from shore.I have a 4x4 ram,and haven't needed to engage the frt. axle yet,usually in nov. dec. when it gets icy.

the access is about 2-3 miles nw (toward white lake) from the river bridge. go thru an s curve,and pass a big farm with 2 big barns,a small gravel road to your right takes you a 1/2 mile into the launch. it is marked with a small sign. but the sign is right at the road,no warning,so be going slow. in the summer you can look thru the trees and see the vehicles parked,before you get to the access road.
