My wife, my son and I hit the Miss for 2 hrs tonight. I got awfully cold(er) and we were REALLY hoping it wouldn't shut the fishing down......

We headed out to a new spot I had discovered....weedy, sloppy and just REEKS of LMB!!!

We we decide to start casting it. Me using a Senko and she using a Furbit.

Well it started of slow with my hooking into a small bass and losing it in the weeds.....

I keep casting and allow my senko to flutter under the weed patches....

BAM! Pays off with this Brute!

A nice fight and I am guessing high four if not a nickel...VERY minimal arm extension in this pic.... This fish was Chunky and had a HUGE maw!

Then the Missus (never to be outdone) has a bucketmouth EXPLODE on her furbit! A good fight to get it in.....

The night before I take Canmoore out to one of my spots and he nails this one on a Spook!

Tons of fun!

So proud of my wife her biggest bass EVER!

Thanks!

Took a lot of hard work to find these spots and what was working on them.

No, we were quite far from the town launch....LOL!

Which is where several hundred fish were released from the last Renegade outing!

Of course Katch!

A "Furbit" is a frog..but it has furry legs and has a blade on it. They sell them at Baitcasters....

Miss= Mississippi Lake.

But the Mississippi River (part of it) Starts up by Dalhousie Lake and finishes in the Ottawa in Arnprior I believe. (I may be wrong)

jamsers tell me what you think about those frogs. i think i'm picking up a couple just by looking at them. the action must be crazy with those furry legs!

I'd have to say I am impressed. Honestly!

They held up to bass and a pike attack without falling apart of ripping. It did get a small knick in it, but very, very, very minimal.

My only reluctance is the cost! $16 is a lot for a bass frog! But the action is great and the arse end sinks back on a pause which is cool as the 1st place a fish is going to bite is the hooks!

It was a real slow night compared to the last 2 days....Th Wife had 5-6 blow ups. She is not the most experienced at fishing (neither am I really) but someone such as yourself (experienced with topwater/frogs) would have easily have had those other fish....

I seem to have very little luck with topwater baits....not sure what it is!

Canmoore is DYNAMITE with a Spook. Its ridiculous how many fish he'll catch!

There is a launch in town which is $7.00
A free launch at the 9A concession
A free launch off of Tennyson rd.
A launch at LakePark Lodge
A launch at both Mcreary's and Mcullough's camp grounds
A launch at Baitcasters store
and a pay launch at John's Marina.

Hope this helps!

the town launch is in Carleton Place .... watch your dates though, there are a few weekends when the launch is closed to the public (differant festivals at the park)
