Amazing. You can bomb-cast a heavy lure about a mile out, or flip cast with light lures. I highly recommend it (if you have the $$ to blow).

With all due respect how many people do you think are out there running around with $700 or $800 reels.

I do have a regular Calais (found it on our very own classifieds) and I can throw a decent distance with it. If it birdnests, it's usually because I try to over throw the lure or forget to reset the reel when I change up. Distance also improved when I got rid of the fireline crystal. I would absolutely recommend it.

That said, I am a believer in "you get what you pay for" so as Dustin says "if you have the money to blow", knock yourself out.

On the off chance you haven't checked here's a link to the tackletour review: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimano ... eview.html

If you do sea fishing than " running around " with $800 reels is not that unusual... , anyway, still looking for real life users :)

Very nice my wife would freak if I ever asked her to buy an expensive rod or reel. You are a lucky man on more than ine front. Enjoy it.

Hopefully now you can cast all the way to the sea.
