Last weekends SEBO tournament on Mississippi Lake

My wife and I fished the tournament, did not do well. Managed a measly 9.38pounds. (65th) Does anyone know ( and is willing to share ) what the winning pattern was?
Deep or Shallow??
Weeds or rocks??
We were lucky to find 2 SMB in about 3ft of water that were both over 3pounds. Holding over a small pile of rock. Our other 3 fish were little dinks. Without those 2 fish our weights would have been really embarrassing.
We pre-fished the lake 2 weekends prior to this, and we found 3 spots that produced 3pound LMB...needless to say those fish were not around last weekend...sods law I guess.
Next one is Muskrat Lake, never been there, but I am always up for a challenge
Bring it on !!!

A bunch of us fished Muskrat on Sunday in the Algonkin Fly Fishers Bass Tournament. The big fish for the day was an 18.5" SM. We were fishing the shoals and the slop and only managed two little smallies. The water conditions were good (though temps are still somewhat cool for LM.)
We could have had a good perch fry if we'd kept all the jumbo perch we were catching. Some of the other guys were also into some good pike, even though bass were our target species.
If I were to fish Muskrat this weekend I'd probably stick to fishing for SM rather than trying to find the seemingly ellusive LM.

Some of the foam flies I was chucking at the edges of the reeds and over the shallow weed beds would make most frog chuckers blush.....

To what position does SEBO pay out? Is it based on field?

I am not sure Slop. This is our first year fishing the events, and so far we have not been anywhere near the top.

I am sure there are other FH members that fish the events, perhaps they will comment?

Thanks Zimbo......I was on their site and did not see a payout schedule but more of a point system award for the title and the 'jacket'. All of my tournaments fished in the past were based on 100% payout to 10th position based on a 100 team field.

They pay out to 7th spot with a 85% pay structure based on field.

hey zimbo...don't feel so bad. I fished it with my wife too and didn't do so well.(9.10)
It was tough /slow day offishing to meek out a limit but as usual there;s always someone who manages to figure out the bite.
Here's a brief summary from Wayne Riley's website of hiow his day went;
July 26th: South Eastern Bass Open, Mississippi Lake. Weather Conditions: Cloudy conditions in the morning with sunny breaks in the afternoon - moderate winds developing in the afternoon - High 24°C. Water Conditions: slightly above normal level and clear with a surface temperature of 77°F. Number of Teams Competing - 82. For the second time this year a new record for the number of teams competing in a SEBO event resulted in the tournament organizer starting the teams in two flights 30 minutes apart. We started the day in fishing shallow in a back bay and our rats only produced pike. The flat out in front of it produced two fish and we could see it was going to be a run and gun type of day. By fishing shorelines, deep edges and flats it took us until noon to catch our limit. With the sun making its appearance we started to fish docks and one particular stretch produced two fish that we were able to cull with as well as seeing another nice fish cruising around. We needed a kicker fish and the last cast of the day on a flat in 7 feet of water with scattered weed clumps produced our best fish that was almost four pounds. Our final weight was 14.35 pounds and an 18th place finish. Top producing lures were a jig and pig and a wacky rigged senko. Event results can be found by clicking here.
see you at Muskrat!
