River "X": A Report From The Farm. *Updated With A

***I missed one and got mixed up with what video was what... now corrected***
So I am pretty sure that I have found my "Go To" spot. I will call it River "X". It is no real secret, but I like the mystique! Anyone who reads these forums can figure out where I have been going!!
To start this report, I should give you a little background first. I went to a lake in the Laurentians outside of St-Hyppolite, from Tuesday to Friday. I was pretty stoked about going since I brought my 13 ft of tin freedom. So... Lac Achigan. Barren featureless, and somewhat like the ocean due to the constant buzzing of Master Craft and Malibu wake boats creating tsunami sized waves from sun up to sun down.
I will NEVER fish in that sloshing soup bowl again!
So with this fresh in my head, I couldn't sleep on my first night home. All I could think about was landing some Bass and Pike. Problem was I had a wedding to go to. So what did I come up with?
Bagged out on the wedding and went fishing!!!
Here is the evidence;
I hit the water a little on the late side (Farmer chores to do and all!!) at about 11:30am. Took about 20 minutes of travel time (@30kph pushed by my little 15hp 1977 Eska!!) to get to one of my preferred spots.
I started with my black double propped buzz bait and ended with it 6 hrs later. I threw a few other baits, but the buzz was the only thing getting the hits.
Please note that I took care to take the pictures of the fish with where I caught them in the background.
Got to the Island that is surrounded by 50 to 30 feet of water and it has some great shallows all around it. Some of it runs out at about 8 FOW 30 or 40 feet from the shore, then drops dramatically to 30 or 40 FOW.
First blood of the day goes to this little un-weighed guy;
You can see the log he was hiding under.
10 or 15 minutes later, this little guy showed up;
2 minutes after that a pike showed up... no pic because I just wanted to get him back into the water as soon as I could. I don't like to handle them more than I have to and I ALWAYS use two hands with them!
3 or 4 minutes after that... well... here is some video of the first 3lb + of the day and a short tour of the area and my fishing vessel!

After about a half hour drought, where I lost a pretty good pike, I hooked up this one under that birch laying in the water;
After that I moved to another area that I was eye-balling on Google Earth for a while; A rather large bay with a bunch of smaller bays within it. When I got into the bay I scanned the shore line to decide where I was going to hit first. I decided on a muddy bank that was eroding into the water but had some weedy growth hugging the shore.
Tossed in my Black buzz... and as soon as it hit the water, a gust of wind put me off course so I gave the electric motor a shot then started winding my line in. Guess who was on the other end?

After that fun guy, I pitched into that brush pile in the background and came out with this little guy!
I got this one a short time later in a tiny bay. It gave me a better fight than his weight might suggest! Watch to the end for an amazing tail dance on the release!!

At this point, I was thirsty enough to drink the River "X" water untreated, but I decided that I was better off hitting a Dépaneur on the way home instead!
On my way back, I waved to some boaters (2 ladies and a teen-aged boy), who looked like they may have been having some trouble in their 14 foot Princecraft with a 20 HP newish Merc on the back. They waved back but I was not convinced... so I gave them a thumbs up... and got none back... after stopping and talking to them I discovered that their engine conked out... I usually have a bunch of tools in my boat, but I forgot one of the pouches that would have helped me pull their plugs... so I towed them back to their dock (About 2kms away). They invited me in for a drink... I don't drink alcohol, but I certainly chugged down the Pepsi they gave me (No Quebec jokes! They were actually English!!) and went on my way after about a half an hour.
Met a nice guy named Eugene and his son and girlfriend at the launch and swapped numbers to fish together at a later time.
All in all a great day!!

This is the first time I have ever seen/heard of anyone else having one, nevermind still using one!!
