Finally got down to BOQ (picture added)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Finally got down to BOQ (picture added)

Post by Tim Carmichael »

I was not able to get down earlier and now have the boat put away. But... I recieved a call on Saturday that there was an open seat for Sunday. Left the Prior at 2:15. Drove down in a heavy fog until we reached the 401. Launched into a pretty thick fog and followed another boat out to the ferry area. Fog did not lift on the Bay until 10. Fished till 4:15. We fished the Picton side of the ferry all day. Marked massive bait balls and big arches most of the day. After a papers, rock, scissors I was first up. I don't know about others but with us if a rod goes off and we have not decided on the order of who goes first all we would say is ..you get it, no you get it, well I won't etc. A board began acting funny around 10. It ended up being a decent eye that was 28.5 inches long, and fat, fat, fat. Definitely my biggest yet. I have a 9 pounder from the Ottawa as my PB and this fish was much bigger. Next fish in was a 4 pounder (had the scale out by then). Then one of the boards did a major back up and we all got pretty excited. Unfortunately the fish shook off before we could get the board in. Big tooth hole in the lure though. Ended up with two eyes and a on-off. Blue/white deep reef runner got both fish. Dr. Death (purple and sorry I forget the lure name) was the missed fish. I will try to post a picture at another date as my buddy has to download it and send it to me. Long drive back as a major accident on highway 7 at Sharbot Lake. Thankfully we were about a 1/4 mile from the Crotch Lake turn off and after a turnaround we went home that way through Lanark. Though the action was slow the companionship was great. I have not fished with my two cousins in a while and forgot how fun a day coud be on the water with the two of them.

Have a good one and play safe,

Tim

That drive in the fog shows perseverance and dedication to walleye fishing. Good fishing and good report with helpful info.
