I dont have any pictures, but Maple does. We went to the bay to hook into some lunkers. I lost a mother of a walleye, possibly 11lbs!!

JimW lost a fish upwards of 10-11lbs also. Maple landed some nice fish, he has some pictures to attest. Jimmy caught a nice eater, that I get to eat!

Although I did not land a walleye, I am hooked. I cant wait untill I get another shot at a Quinte 'Eye!!

Thanks Jeff_C!

OK Canmoore, here ya go. Pics and a report.

You may recall that last week Jimmy from the Valley wiggled the bait and kindly offered to take some Fish-Hawkers to the BOQ for some fun. Three of us bit; Jim W., Canmoore, and me, Maple.

We left early Saturday morning (you could call it late Friday night!) for the drive down and met up with the guides under the stars south of Trenton. Set up was quick with quads to ride out and only 8-10" of ice to punch through.

We needant have rushed so hard since all that was caught were perch. Looked nice on the Vexlar, but no PB fish were taken that morning.

After a hot lunch we moved east to Belleville and prepared for the fish to turn on hard. By then it had warmed up from -19' at dawn to -10' with bright sun and little wind.

We worked it hard but marked few fish through the afternoon. Finally it was Jim W. who landed the first walleye and returned it - too small!! Then Jimmy from the Valley hooked a nice 2-2 1/2 lb eater. Then I iced a 5 pounder and a 6 1/2 !!! both PBs for me!!! In the mean time Jim W. hooked a 10-11 pounder and had it right up to the hole only to watch it turn and swim away......he said he was going to take up golf instead.....it's less frustrating!! Next door Canmoore coaxed a HUGE fish to bite only to have it almost up when it parted the line......and was gone. Bummer.

All in all we had an awesome day with new friends and adventures on the mighty BOQ, who has yet to give up all her secrets. Won't be long 'till were jiggin' again.

Thanks to Jimmy from the Valley for his kind hospitality and hard work, Canamoore and Jim W., guides Jeff C., Paul and the other boys from Quinte Ice Fishing Team.

Maple,

SO glad you had a great time! 3rd time to Quinte a charm eh?!

The PIGS were there, you could see em on the flashers but they wouldn't hit...

Oh well! That's fishing!

Looking forward to the next voyage!

Great report Maple, but you missed a part.

The plan ...JimW to meet the other 3 guys at Tim Horton's in Perth at 3:15am....so I leave Almonte at 2:30am.

Change od plans....JimW waits at Tim Horton's until close to 4am, nobody shows up :? . I forgot James phone number...so I couldn't call...So at 4am JimW leaves and drives by himself to meet the Quinte Ice Fishing Team guys.

Anyways we all eventually arrived at Quinte, the other guys had alarm clock issues, that is why I didn't go to bed Friday night.

Anyways I didn't get my 10 plus pounder for the second weekend in a row, but this week I got her to the hole, so the 3rd time so be the one.

Fishing was a little slower this week, and cold, but it was a good day anyways, and I long day 2:30 am to almost midnight by the time I was home.

A big thanks to the guys from Quinte Ice Fishing Team, I picked up a lot more good tips for catching eyes from them and they are a great bunch of guys. Thanks Jeff C for bringing the extra portable shelter.

I'm going to replace some hooks on some lures, mainly my hopkins Smoothies, and give Quinte another shot in a few weeks.

Great to meet Canmoore and Maple for the first time.

Off to Lake Temagami this coming Friday to Sunday.

Yeah, I definately cannot wait untill I hit up Quinte again. Even though i did not catch a walleye, I learned so much about fishing for this species on hard water. And you know what thay say, experience is worth its weight in gold!!

Great report guys!

I made it down to BOQ with my wife and another couple yesterday. we got off to a late start which dictated the rest of our day. we fished for about 4 hours and ended up with nothing but perch. hopefully we have better luck next time!
