University of Ottawa Bass Fishing Team

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

University of Ottawa Bass Fishing Team

Post by lbrown32 »

Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd let everyone know that we've started up a fishing team here at the University of Ottawa. The idea is to get more university kids out fishing, and hopefully, increase the level of interest in fishing for young people. We meet once a month on campus to plan excursions and tournaments, and to discuss different fishing techniques.

This year marks the introduction of the Canadian Collegiate Bass Championships and we're working towards entering several teams!

Our eventual goal will be to compete with American schools in College Bass tournaments (huge in the states although just starting up in Canada).

Anyways, just thought everyone might be interested to know about us!

Tight lines,

Interesting concept, hope everything works out! Joining Ottawa U as of Fall 2010 so I'll see you there.

Hi Lindsay,
Welcome to Fish-Hawk.
I am interested to hear that you have a Fishing Club on Campus.
My university years were a long time ago but I would be interested to know if most of your club members are from Ottawa or are they from out of town.
If you ever get a web site going, send us the link.
Good Luck!

:D Does that mean I can be a mature student and go back to university and take fishing which I see as more useful than a BA at least I can feed myself.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the interest. Here are a couple links to check out:

www.collegebass.com

http://canadiancollegiatebass.webs.com/

As for starting the club, I put up posters around the university advertising a meeting and made a facebook group. If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask. The more universities we can get involved the better!

I am attending Ottawa U, what time and what building are the meetings at? I am attending part time, as I still work full time. Hopefully I can make it to the meetings!!

Next year, I am leaving work to attend school full time.
