Stephanie Won The BIG PIKE contest!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Stephanie Won The BIG PIKE contest!

Post by Fishing 24/7 »

The plan was to hit pike lake early....

word on the street was that they were mornning bitters...

i tell stephanie.... get ready to wake up early GURL!

she was all grumpy @ dawn... litle did she know she was in for her best pike outting!

we set the lines @ 7:45 am.

we settle our grounds on the left of a point. that goes down to 20 -30 FOW

and hold a massive weed bed. mixed with bolders and pebble rocks.

i start off with a classic small mouth!

Image

we had heard threw the branches that this lake was PRIME TIME early.... for pike.

a tip-up falls............ ryan runs.... the only tip up that was set with fluoro fails and the pike cuts the line!

i look to my left.

ANOTHER tip-up goes straight down.

RUN.... set the hook and this line has a leader.

i land the first pike of the day! :D

SNEAKY STEPHANIE. keeps quiet..... shes pulling up a fish and she didnt even call it.

she says look at this my PB!

Image

IM LIKE!  thats thing is a HUGE pike GURL! 8)

high fives all around and the pike prime falls dead but the smallies keep us warm tho!

Image

ryan aka (bass-hunter) while jigging with a swedish pimple.

Image

av. 2 lbs bass.

Image

still landing them on dead shinners.

you can realy tell when its a bass. they take the bait slowly.

and the tip-up goes down SLOWWWWWWLY!

you can walk to it and still land the fish.

12 pm ...... slow bite but in the back of my mind i know the pike are comming back for PRIME TIME #2

a tip-up falls @ 300 m/h stephanie is the first at the wooden rod.

she sets the hook like a pro.

its big...... the line is set in 25 fow.. and shes in for the ride of her life.

brings the line in... the pike takes the line out.

over and over for a good 4-5 minutes.

the head pops out and i manadge to grab him!

almost lost him.

her PB and its going to be hard to beat..... or is it!

Image

WHAT A PIG!!!!!!

put this PIB back and a ANOTHER tip-up goes down......

well at this point i coudnt believe my EYES! TRAUMATIZED.

Ryan lands this one!

Image

I notice a piece of fluro line form this pikes mouth.... x2 trebles removed.

the same pike bite twice in the same day.

Image

At this point im on my behind out of breath running here running there unhook this unhook that........ PARADICE!

after catching the odd bass.

the bite dies down we are all burnt to a crisp ....

and we call it a day.

this outting is going to be hard to beat for me.... stephanie's fish was a pig....... HOLY MOLY!
