water snake baits

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

water snake baits

Post by Dcaster »

Goodday ya'all

Just thought I'd ask, because i was so dam tempted last night to order this, if anyone on the the hawk has used those Doug Hannon water snake plastics ? I've only ever seen the commercial but last night there was a 1/2 hour infomercial on and man if my credit card wasn't in the other room i probably would have ordered them.

The only thing is they were talking like it was 2008 saying they have limited quantities, so i was thinking they must be sold out by now....lol. Anyways, they look sweet, so i thought I'd ask here and see if anyone has used them.....the action looks sweet.

Cheers

I am also very interested in a topwater snake lure.
I think I am going to get my hands on the Mann's Hardnose 10in. snake instead but can't find them here in Ottawa.

I'd bet snakes work wherever there's an abundance of snakes for fish to forage on. If they're not usual forage than my guess would be don't buy em. It'd be nice to get a sample (colours and sizes) or two to chuck to your favorite lilly pad patch. Then compare it to a 10" berkely power worm or yum dinger in a wacky rig. I'll bet that here in Canada the dinger and power worm outfishes the snake. The only saving grace for the snake is that it's fun to watch on the retrieve when your not catching anything.....Also, I live by the addage that it's not the arrow, but the archer so technique is large. Also, I recon we aint in the Southern where a lot of inland lakes are snake infested.

Yes, can't wait. Have a new Wavespin reel and a line dancer too...........OK..........that's not true at all. Sorry.

You'll catch a lot more bass with $40 worth of Senkos.........

they use really tough plastic. i could see it lasting a very long time, especially if you invest in soft plastic glue.

there are a few baits on the market like that.

there are also a few ppl who custom make them as well.

you can also take a generic slammer / rat bait and turn it into a snake type bait.

You can catch a bass on a carrot. So sure, a snake will work. One must realize though that most lures, especially ones on infomercials, are marketed to catch fisherman - not necessarily fish.

I might have some of these for you. I think I keep some behind my stash of Banjo Minnows, Flying lures, or Strobe light-lip lipless cranks
