				I use a St.Croix LTB "teaser" for tubes/plastics, its a 7ft Medium fast.
I think you will find a lot of people use 7ft medium or medium heavy spinning gear when using tubes, I just prefer casting to spinning.

For open water I use 7'2" to 7'5" rods in medium xf. For in tight I have a 5'10"mxf.

A 7ft or 7'6" MH rod is best. If you're fishing deeper water, you want to be able to have a longer rod to improve the amount of line you can pick up quickly on a hookset.
You're also going to get better leverage with a longer rod and can size down on # test and let the rod do the work instead of the line.
