after having some luck on Walleye Bay down at Petrie's on Saturday, I decided to give it another try Sunday.
after finding a couple of abandoned pre-drilled holes, I decided to set-up camp. In the 1st hour i caught a small suager which was common over the 2 days. then things got quiet until my rod bent over and drag started reeling. after several minutes of fighting, this creature appeared coming backwards up the hole!
I couldn't believe it as I've never caught one before.
Not sure of the weight but a nearby fisherman suggested 8-10lbs and took this pic for me.

I took the advise from an Oziles staff member to "bounce" a jig of bottom to stir up the silt. I'm guessing that's what called this guy in.
didn't catch anything else that day, but considering what I did catch, my day was already made!

cheers!

Added note...she was taken in 42ft of water.
After the pic was taken and a lamprey removed from it's side, it was release down the hole.
With the wide variety of species in the big O, ya never know what you'll end up catching.

cong on the sturgeons.

there been more then few caught there in the past few years.

for your '''nearby fisherman'' weight estimate...they might have been to far or dont no what they talk about, to estimate that weight.. look closer to 4 /5 at the most.

they still cool fish species to get caught.
