Creek Fishing In the Ottawa Valley

Hey Guys, I know that most of you are going to read this and say no way.. but I figured I would ask.

I have a relative who is fighting cancer and has been pretty much given a year or so to inoperable lung cancer. He was an avid fisherman growing up and had his fair share of muskie battles in the Ottawa. His passion is trout. he traveled to coborg and shelter valley many times to battle the creeks and crowds for trout.

We are going to head up to limestone as soon as the ice is out and have plans to hit a few more of the trout lakes when we can. However he loves to creek fish. There is no way we can get to shelter valley this spring.

so my question, is there any creeks any where near by that we can fish for an afternoon. I know that if any of you have a creek, you won't want to reveal the secret holes or hot spots, but if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. I would suggest a private message so that it remains a secret hole. In case you are worried, I won't tell anyone your secret spot and I really don't plan on fishing it that frequently and probably never again after this summer.

If there are no replies, I understand. Thanks for taking the time and if anyone can hep me out that would be greatly appreciated.

solstrum,

Unfortunately the MNR stopped stocking the creeks up the valley years ago. While a few members have bushwhacked into some creeks to find a handful of trout, I for one do not think it's worth the effort.

My recommendation would be go down to Upstate NY. There are a number of small rivers that are 15-30 mins from the Cornwall border crossing. The NY DEC does a great job stocking their rivers and I've never been disappointed in them.

Thank you very much everyone!

Wehave done the NY thing in the past and it is always a great trip, however do to restrictions I don't think we could do that run and I dont think a trip across the border is a good idea with health issues.

But I do have to say thank you to everyone who has private messaged me, there are a lot of great ideas, some absolutely amazing offers and its been refreshing to see such generosity and the willingness of strangers to open up their lives the way you have.

Thank you very much.
