So i've been fishing for a couple of years now and i think its time to invest in a good quality rod and reel.
Most of my fishing is done from shore on the ottawa river.
I am looking to spend about 150$ on a spining reel and i've got a bunch of decent rods to used that reel with
Any suggestions?

If anyone is to give you a good suggetion, they'd need to know what kind of fishing you do. Are you constantly casting and retrieving, if so, what size lure, and why not a baitcaster? Are you catching alot of big cats in the current? panfish? pike & bass? Put a bit more info and you'll surely get a good response.
Tight lines,

Redletterdays: The best advice I can think of is take the rod you will be using to a store you trust (Paddletales comes to mind-that's me

) and choose a reel that balances on the rod well and feels right in your hand. We all have our opinions as to which brand/model is best, but that's only right for us. Be prepared to answer more questions about your style and preferred baits as well as line class. There are lots of good choices in your price range.

Everyone will have thier favourite but my suggestion would be to get a Shimano Sahara (about $95-$110).
