A Decent Spring Outing

I've been following the recent reports and lull in the action with some not-so-good Spring weather in the valley and thought I'd post some pics from a recent trip I took. Friday here was one of those spectacular Spring days with temps around 70F and a warming trend on the horizon. I found fish the week before just starting to move to the shallows, but the cool front that hit you guys scattered fish back into the deep flats and dropoffs for most of the morning.
We were after the Saugeye (Walleye/Saugeye mix) in this lake, but fishing for the pannies too. This little 75 acre lake has a good population of Saugeye and an incredible crop of Redears, Bluegill and Crappie also. We were throwing twister tails, roadrunners, and small spinners on the day and caught a really nice mixed bag of fish. Here's a cooler shot:

A couple nice redears:

And a couple of the Saugeye:
Can't wait to go again! Tight Lines and wishes for better Spring Weather in the Valley!

Looks like you have the makings of a few tasty meals there.
I haven't had any "sunnies" since my childhood. I hear they are quite tasty.
Thanks for the report.

Forgot to mention Dropshot'r...two of the big Redears were caught while dropshotting...knew you would appreciate that

!
I think your Thomas Jefferson quote is quite prophetic given the situation we are in today...

Very nice Ratso! Very nice!
Going Stateside myself in 2 weeks and am looking forward to hitting some lakes in Georgia.....
Not sure where else along the way but I have more leisure driving back home than I do driving down.
Any lakes along the way from Ottawa to Georgia you'd suggest I stop and wet a line?

Jeff,
Email me a couple fillets would ya.......Still a couple more weeks before I get any eyes in my bucket.
"Jimmy from Georgia".... You should look into a wild boar hunt. I know nothing about it, aside from a buddy who was down there over the winter and shot 18 pigs....... Looked like a "blast".

No time for hunting Luke....love to but no time.
Just want to enjoy some of the lakes and waterbodies along the way and know very, very little about American waters....
I'll never be from Georgia...LOL!

Jimmy,
I'm not sure if you'll be pulling a boat or what your interest is (River, Stream, lakes etc...), but you drive through some States that are loaded with possibilities. Start with the Finger Lakes near Syracuse, NY, there are a million small streams along your route in Pennsylvania; to include the larger Susquehanna River, the Shenandoah River in Virginia is my all-time best wet wading stream for smallies and scenery, Lake Norman or Mountain Island Lakes in North Carolina are along your route, Lake Hartwell borders North Carolina and Georgia...where to begin or end
Here's a link to fishing reports in Georgia and a link to the top ten bass lakes. Have a blast, eh!

I can give you info on the Salmon River in Pulaski, Ny.
I can give you information on every trout stream from Cameron County to Dauphin County in Pennsylvania.
Right now is the time to be on the Susquehanna for smallies.
Jimmy From Going Through God's Country, I can give you enough places to see and do in Pennsylvania you never get to Maryland

Thanks DS,
I'll post my route on here soon and ask what are good places.
Georgia seems to abound with Cotton mouthes, Rattlers and water moccassins. Not to mention Black Widows and odd scorpions.
Not worried about them, just weird to be out in the wild and there be things that can potentially kill you.
