Good afternoon fellow Hawkers, Just another short note; after reading Joco's post I thought I would like to contribute so I headed down to the river and caught my limit and was back at the house in 30 minutes. They both came in just under a nickel. Looks like its fresh Lake Trout for Supper.

What no story? How you had to decide which rock to stand on, and in the end you stood on the smaller rock? How you had 2 follows and 1 bite off? How catching the fish brought meaning into your life? :D

Nice fish, loverly spot you live!

spring?

Lakers in the river, is that just a spring thing or is the river cold enough to keep them around there year round?

Actually the real story is I bought an $11.00 EGB Spoon which I wanted to try out. Took the dog for a walk down to the river tossed the spoon a total of seven times caught my limit so I had to go back to the house. Didn't even take a knife to clean them...No follows, no soft hooks, just seven casts and two nice Lakers just under 5lbs. So the 30 mins included travell time...lol :D

Their in the river for the next couple of weeks. As the water warms they head back out to Superior or into Lake Helen. But we have hook some in July. The size range from 2 - 5lbs with an occasional 10lb'er.
