Kamaniskeg Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Kamaniskeg Lake

Post by pikeman »

Good morning Gents,

I am going to be heading to Kamaniskeg lake this weekend with friends. we have never fished this lake and I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I am NOT looking for anyone's honey hole just a push in the right direction.

We will be targeting walleye and also trying our luck on lakers.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you launching from?
If you launch on the Madawaska River in Combermere (Free Launch and parking) you can fish your way up the river/marsh till you hit the lake. I actually have caught more fish in the river between those two points, then I ever have in the lake. I am originally from that area, but have not fished that water for some time..let me know how you make out...whatever you decide to do.

Also just a side note....that lake gets extremely rough with little warning.
Have a great trip!

We stayed at Pine Cliff Resort many years ago.

I would agree with Dutchydr comments about the Madawaska River.

If I was there for 'eyes I would be fishing the Madawaska with a jig and a leech. I had a dismal time witht he lakers when I was there.

Good luck,

Pikeman, did you know there is a Pike tournament in Combermere this weekend on Saturday? The 7 parking spots for trucks and trailers will be gone very early.

You might want to give Pine Cliff a call. They may allow you to launch there.
