hi guys,
me and my family are going to a cottage in mid july at lake cordova, and i was hoping someone could put me onto some good spots for pickerel and pike there. It looks like a pretty deep lake, one side seems to be very weedy and the other pretty sparse. I was thinking the best bet would be to try the river mouth, but from the pics it looks like it is too weedy to access it by boat... anyone have some tips for me? it is lake cordova located in havelock.

does anyone have some info for me? even if u dont know the lake maybe u can tell me where to start my pattern for pickerel. It is a fairly deep lake, bottoms out at about 40 ft, very clear, weeds in one half of the lake near the river mouth and rock on the other side. lots of islands and points and rock shoals around, none with any depth though. I was thinking about trolling around the islands, but idk it looks kind of shallow.

I know nothing about this lake... BUT - unless you can forecast weather using jars of bear fat or commune with squirrels... I would hope like hell that you have a fish finder.

New body of water that you know nothing about.... on vacation for a couple of days... you don't want to waste your time searching endlessly for the eyes. For some people the search is the reason to fish... but if you are anything like me, I would look for any advantage I could!!!

If you have a finder... do the standard and look for the bait fish... drop offs and weed edges adjacent to deeper water.

If you can, look for a local store, gas station or hardware store and get the locals perspective of where the bite might be found.
